Introducing Lillian Kazuk

"Lily's Prairie" is our special exhibition at Pulse for the month of April.  We are showcasing the diverse work of Manitoba Artist Lillian Kazuk, and hosting a reception with the artist in attendance on Friday, April 24 from 7-9 pm.

Lillian Kazuk's artistic life has been influenced by the pastoral landscape of her youth, marked by the colours and moods of nature blooming from the prairie around her. An Interior Design graduate from the University of Manitoba, she has had a successful practice for 39 years.  When not painting or designing, she loves to garden, cook, and travel, and enjoys cottage life on Lake Winnipeg.

Watercolour is Lillian's passion.  She relishes the textural nuances of paint and water, capturing the light and movement of nature's special moments in time. She has recently branched into an impressionistic landscape style with acrylics to explore expression via aggressive brush techniques and a saturated palette.  This 'new' medium highlights her versatility in topic and subject, and brings a fresh perspective to her watercolour studies.

Lillian Kazuk paints to harmonize our past with our present, to appreciate the simple via the complex, and to see cosmopolitan life through a rural lens. Most of all, she enjoys sharing it with you.

We hope that you can join us for the reception to have an opportunity to meet the artist and consider the wide variety of her work; a selected showcase of her work will be available for viewing throughout the whole month.
