Way up in the Arctic, two Polar Bear cubs and their mother
lived a contented life. But one snowy day, while the cubs played, they somehow
lost sight of their mother. Their search for her led them into the path of
several other Arctic animals. Was it one of the Arctic creatures or something
else that helped them realize they weren’t as lost as they thought?
Jennifer LaBella’s children’s picture book, “A Polar Bear
Night of Stars and Light,” was awarded a Silver Medal in the “13th Annual
Independent Publisher Book Awards.” There were over 4000 books entered from
around the world and 104 books entered in the “Children’s Picture Books, All
Ages” category. The awards were presented in New York City in May 2009.
An excerpt from the Forward in the book;
Great artists have a unique ability to see life differently;
their vision is a special gift to all of us. Jennifer LaBella is able to reach
in and touch the souls of these animals and then bring them to life through her
unparalleled talent. Her art allows us to travel with her and begin to
understand the actual spirit of this place and its wildlife, leaving us with a
determination to inspire others of the need to become better caretakers of this
precious planet.
There is a strong chance that by the end of this book you
will not be the same. The magic itself will change you, and hopefully, forever
change our future.
