Born
in Winnipeg, Joanne resides just outside the city. Here she paints in a woodland setting in her
home-based studio where she finds inspiration in the abundance of natural
beauty that surrounds her. Her work
reflects her appreciation for nature.
Painting inspires her to move nearer and to take a closer look. She has a gentle touch and a quiet way of
representing the beauty that she sees.
Primarily
a watercolourist, Joanne enjoys the challenges of experimenting with mixed
media creating interesting textures and patterns using vivid colours.
A
watercolour instructor for many years, Joanne is available to teach workshops
throughout Manitoba. Her work can be
found at the Craft Cupboard and the Pulse Gallery at the Forks. She participates in numerous art shows and is
an active member of the Assiniboia Group of Artists. Her work has been
purchased by several Winnipeg credit unions, The Winnipeg Foundation, and can
be found in offices at The Manitoba Legislature and the parliament buildings in
Ottawa, as well as in many private collections around the world.
