Leslie Franklin

We are delighted to welcome Leslie Franklin to Pulse Gallery as one of our artists.  Leslie is a Manitoba artist working primarily in ink and watercolour. Her style has evolved to combine elements of realism with loose, free flowing colour producing expressive, unconventional results. Leslie has been painting for over 30 years, with her work exhibited in local galleries and juried shows in Canada and the United States.

At The Market

Leslie does not limit her subject matter, although her work often explores the interaction of humans and animals with their environment. Fostering dogs and cats for rescue groups has provided an endless resource and motivation in painting companion animals.

She is a selected member of the Manitoba Society of Artists, the Assiniboine Group of Artists Cooperative and the St James Art Club.  Leslie continually expands her artistic knowledge and skills through courses at the Winnipeg Art Gallery and seminars hosted by other artists. She has studied portraiture extensively and has a Certificate in Forensic/composite Drawing for Law Enforcement.

Leslie's work is a lovely addition to the diverse melange here at Pulse--we feel that her emotional yet contemporary approach, combined with her masterful use of color, has found a home here.  It's certainly always worth a visit to Pulse to see her work, and that of the other Pulse artists, in person!
